Human Resource Development
Overview to course.
Human resource development is a branch study from Human Resource Management
Human resource management can be defined as that ‘part of management process which develops and manages the human elements of an organization considering the resourcefulness of the organisation’s own people in terms of total Knowledge, skills, creative abilities, talents, aptitudes and potentialities.
In simple words, human resources management means employing people, developing their resources, utilising, maintaining and compensating their services in tune with the job, and organisational requirements.
When Human Resource Management is taken a step further by aligning the activities with organizational goals so that other departments are made stronger, we now call it Strategic Human Resource Management ( SHRM )
SHRM can be defined now the practice of attracting, rewarding, and retaining employees for the benefit of both the employees as individuals and the organization as a whole. HR departments that practice strategic human resource management do not work independently within an island; they interact with other departments within an organization to understand their goals in order to create strategies to be aligned with the goals.
